Nature in relation to a human being. Not the landscape considered as an object extrinsic to man, foreign to him, or a reality closed within itself. No, a landscape which questions and demands. In all the universe, it is only the human being who has been given the ability to feel, perceive, evoke, interpret and understand nature, of which he himself forms a part; it is only he who can know it through his senses and comprehend it, in great part, through his own powers of understanding.
