The man shown here once had a robust body and was extremely active. With the weight of the years and the weakening of his physical forces he has become more and more stooped over. He see him now transformed into an old man, his face sunk below the line of his shoulders and half-buried in a blanket. We feel that he will go on doubling in on himself, until the blanket covers him completely and all sign of life has vanished from sight.
The vulnerability of man is evident in this image... But, as the spirit sinks deeper and deeper into the physical body, the trace it leaves behind grows like that of the setting sun.
